is a good design, but it simply pales in comparison to the Z32, a design 14 yrs old in the tooth. You give nissan too much credit, they werent concerned with "keeping the Z badge alive" oh they'd love to make us all believe that, but when they were limping along with a weak product line and poor financial health with brand new ownership, they new they had a brand that would generate buzz, if nothing else. What I give them credit for is not flushing the marque completely down the toilet for a quick sale like GM has done with every cherised badge they have aside from corvette in an effort to simply make a cheap easy buck with no regards for the future or integrity of the badge (impala, camaro/firebird, SS, ZR-whatever, cadillac, the list goes on seemingly forever). As for Ford, did someone say Thunderbird? Anyway the goal of the 350 is the same as was the goal of the 240 and I think they executed it well and the G35 is a good decision also (even though I vastly prefer the G styling to the Z's--wish it was a 2seater). But IMO it was a step in the wrong direction by just starting all over with the Z's design philosophy. Look at all the old TV ads for the Z31 and Z32, all the do is trump it up as the most advanced, best performing, king of the hill, type sportscar. Now the Z33 is marketed with it driving around a city with a kid playing the Kazoo in the background. That is a serious change in direction, and marks a decided departure from a previous line of thinking and attitude towards a sportscar.
